Army Destroys IED Found in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri District

JAMMU: Alert Army personnel discovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) during a search operation in the Dalhori area of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district late Monday evening, officials said.

Following the recovery, the Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately alerted. A team rushed to the site in Argi village and safely destroyed the IED in a controlled explosion around 10 pm, according to officials.

Officials stated that an investigation is underway to determine the source and intended target of the device. Such security operations are common in the region, which has seen a history of militant activity.

The discovery highlights the continued vigilance of security forces in the Union Territory, where efforts to maintain peace and order remain a priority.
