Armed Men in Bulletproof Vests Loot Jewellery Shop in Palghar, Fire Shots
Three men, wearing what appeared to be bulletproof vests, robbed a jewellery shop in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Monday afternoon, firing multiple shots before fleeing. The incident occurred at Lakshmi Jewellers around 4:30 pm, and was captured on the shop's security cameras.
The footage shows the trio arriving on a motorcycle and entering the shop brandishing country-made pistols and rifles. They threatened employees and collected jewellery worth lakhs of rupees into plastic sacks. To discourage any intervention, they fired shots in the air before speeding away on their motorcycle.
Police attempted to chase the robbers but they managed to evade capture. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence to identify and track down the accused. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The use of bulletproof vests by the robbers indicates a degree of premeditation, raising concerns about the availability of such equipment. Police have urged the public to come forward with any information that might help in the investigation.
