AP Special TET 2026: Registration Opens for In-Service Teachers, Check Key Details

The Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, has released the official notification for the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special APTET) 2026. This examination is designed for in-service teachers appointed before 2011 who are yet to clear the mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) requirement. The notification was issued on August 24, 2026, and the online application window will remain open from August 25 to September 24, 2026.

The Special TET is a crucial step for teachers to meet the qualification standards set under the Right to Education Act. The exam will be conducted in computer-based mode, giving eligible candidates an opportunity to regularise their teaching credentials. Who can apply? In-service teachers who were appointed before 2011 and are currently working in schools managed by the Andhra Pradesh government or its aided institutions are eligible. This includes teachers from government schools, local body schools, APREIS schools, government welfare society residential schools, AP Model Schools, private aided schools, and schools managed by other government departments.

The application process requires candidates to pay a fee of Rs 1,000 for each paper they choose. For those appearing for both Paper I and Paper II, the total fee is Rs 2,000. Payment can be made online through the integrated payment gateway using a debit card, credit card, or net banking. The fee must be paid within the application deadline of September 24, 2026.
