AP Special TET 2026: Registration Opens for In-Service Teachers, Check Key Details

The Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, has released the official notification for the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special APTET) 2026. This examination is designed for in-service teachers appointed before 2011 who are yet to clear the mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) requirement. The notification was issued on August 24, 2026, and the online application window will remain open from August 25 to September 24, 2026.

The Special TET is a crucial step for teachers to meet the qualification standards set under the Right to Education Act. The exam will be conducted in computer-based mode, giving eligible candidates an opportunity to regularise their teaching credentials. According to the notification, the examination will take place from October 11 to October 21, 2026.

Who can apply? In-service teachers who were appointed before 2011 and are currently working in schools managed by the Andhra Pradesh government or its aided institutions are eligible. This includes teachers from government schools, local body schools, APREIS schools, government welfare society residential schools, AP Model Schools, private aided schools, and schools managed by other government departments.

The application process requires candidates to pay a fee of Rs 1,000 for each paper they choose. For those appearing for both Paper I and Paper II, the total fee is Rs 2,000. Payment can be made online through the integrated payment gateway using a debit card, credit card, or net banking. The fee must be paid within the application deadline of September 24, 2026.

Candidates are advised to carefully review the detailed notification before applying. The official notification provides paper-wise educational qualifications, syllabus, and other requirements. All relevant information is available on the official website of the Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, at cse.ap.gov.in.

This special examination is part of the state government's effort to ensure that all in-service teachers hold the mandatory TET qualification. By offering a dedicated window for teachers appointed before 2011, the department aims to regularise their employment status and uphold academic standards in schools. Applicants should keep track of important dates and ensure they complete their applications within the stipulated timeframe.
