Andhra Pradesh clears ₹30,515 crore investment proposals, expects 29,677 jobs
The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) of Andhra Pradesh has approved investment proposals worth ₹30,515 crore from 50 companies across various sectors. These projects are expected to generate an estimated 29,677 jobs in the state.
Among the major projects cleared are a ₹6,000 crore renewable energy investment by NTPC Renewable Energy in Anantapur district, a ₹3,936 crore solar manufacturing project by Premier Energies in Tirupati district, a ₹2,788 crore data centre project by CtrlS Datacenters in Anakapalli district, and a ₹2,250 crore advanced materials investment by Proterial India.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu chaired the board's 18th meeting at the State Secretariat in Amaravati on Thursday. He stated that the benefits of the state's accelerating industrial growth should reach poor and middle-class families. He stressed that industrialisation must create opportunities not only for large corporations but also for ordinary citizens and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Mr. Naidu said Andhra Pradesh must build an industrial ecosystem that creates employment while enabling common people to establish enterprises and participate in economic growth. He called for greater encouragement to startups and directed officials to ensure that ventures incubated through the Real-Time Innovation Hub (RTIH) receive adequate support in attracting venture capital investments. The State is witnessing large-scale industrial development. The fruits of this growth must reach poor and middle-class families. We need an ecosystem in which industrial opportunities are accessible to all sections of society,
he said.
The Chief Minister also asked the Education Department to align academic curricula with emerging industrial requirements, including advanced technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence and automation.
Stressing the need to identify future industrial trends and prepare a skilled workforce to meet upcoming demands, Mr. Naidu made it clear that Andhra Pradesh would not accommodate non-serious investors. Officials have to closely monitor approved projects and ensure that companies commence work immediately after obtaining clearances,
he added.
Minister for Information Technology and Human Resources Development Nara Lokesh highlighted efforts to align ITIs and polytechnic institutions with local industrial requirements and announced that a Centre of Excellence for rare earth mineral research was being established at Andhra University. Drawing from his recent visit to Russia, he noted the existence of a specialised quantum technology ecosystem there and suggested Andhra Pradesh could adopt similar models.
The meeting was attended by Ministers K. Atchannaidu, Anagani Satya Prasad, T.G. Bharath, Kandula Durgesh, Payyavula Keshav and B.C. Janardhan Reddy, and senior officials from various departments.
