Andhra leaders honour Kargil martyrs on Vijay Diwas
On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, political leaders from Andhra Pradesh paid tribute to the soldiers who died in the 1999 Kargil War. The day marks India's victory in the conflict that took place in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu posted on social media platform X, stating that the nation salutes the brave soldiers whose courage secured India's victory. He noted that despite challenging terrain and adversity, the armed forces protected the country's sovereignty.
Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan described the Kargil victory as a triumph of courage and sacrifice. He said the heroes reclaimed Indian territory under hostile conditions, upholding the honour of the national flag.
Minister Nara Lokesh said the sacrifices of soldiers guarding the borders are beyond measure, and the country remains indebted to them.
YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy paid homage, stating that the soldiers' courage and sacrifice protected India's sovereignty and will inspire generations.
Andhra Pradesh BJP president P.V.N. Madhav offered respects to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the motherland.
