Adani Group Invests Rs 1.5 Lakh Crore in Infrastructure; Sets Ambitious Targets for Ports, Energy, Data Centres

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, on Wednesday outlined the conglomerate's investment plans and growth targets during its annual general meeting. The group reported a total revenue of Rs 2.92 lakh crore for the financial year 2025-26, a 7.4% increase from the previous year. Operating profit (EBITDA) stood at Rs 94,834 crore, with a net debt-to-EBITDA ratio of 3.3 times. Net profit rose by 13.9% to Rs 46,376 crore.

The Adani Group invested over Rs 1.5 lakh crore in infrastructure projects during the year, accounting for more than 30% of India's total new private-sector capital expenditure, according to the company. Adani emphasised that infrastructure and intelligence are key pillars for India's future, stating, 'Infrastructure gives a nation muscle. Intelligence gives a nation mastery.'

The group handled over 500 million tonnes of cargo in the past year and aims to double that to 1 billion tonnes annually by 2030. The Vizhinjam International Seaport crossed one million TEUs in its first year of operations, which Adani described as 'the fastest pace ever achieved by any Indian port.'

In aviation, the Adani Group opened the Navi Mumbai International Airport and a new integrated terminal at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. Both airports were listed among the world's seven most beautiful airports earlier this year.

On the digital front, the group is building a 3 GW data centre platform by 2030 and has signed a binding agreement with Google for a gigawatt-scale data centre project in Visakhapatnam. Adani Total Gas has provided piped natural gas connections to over 11 lakh homes.

In the energy sector, Adani Power aims to reach 45 GW of generation capacity over the next five years, while Adani Atomic Energy targets 10 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2035. Adani Energy Solutions holds power transmission projects worth Rs 72,000 crore, including the Khavda South-Olpad HVDC transmission line. The group has also partnered with Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation to develop 5,000 MW of hydropower projects.

In mining and cement, Adani signed four new Mine Developer and Operator agreements, increasing its mining capacity to 145 million tonnes per year. Cement production capacity rose to 110 million metric tonnes per annum. The cement business supplied material for major projects such as the Chenab Rail Bridge and Navi Mumbai International Airport.

In defence and aerospace, Adani said partnerships with Leonardo and Embraer will help create aircraft and helicopter manufacturing ecosystems in India.

On social initiatives, the Adani Foundation reaches around 10 million people across 7,000 villages in 22 states through healthcare, education, and skill development programmes. The group is building a rural eye-care network in Bihar and strengthening healthcare education through Adani University and Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences. Plans for 'Adani Health City' include 1,000-bed multi-specialty hospitals in Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
