Adani Defence to Set Up Rs 2,500 Crore Missile Plant in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday laid the foundation stone for a Rs 2,500 crore missile manufacturing facility by Adani Defence and Aerospace in Shivpuri district. The plant aims to boost indigenous defence production and fill a critical gap in India's defence supply chain.

According to a company statement, the facility will integrate system integration with production of critical materials, enabling the Indian armed forces to induct indigenous missile systems at scale. The project is expected to bring significant investment to the region and generate employment opportunities.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Yadav said, 'Shivpuri is advancing towards industrial and economic development. The establishment of the plant will bring large-scale investment to the region, generate new employment opportunities, and position Madhya Pradesh among the leading states in the country in the field of defence manufacturing.'

The project aligns with the central government's push for self-reliance in defence production under the 'Make in India' initiative. Analysts note that such facilities reduce dependency on imports and strengthen national security capabilities.

Adani Defence and Aerospace, part of the Adani Group, has been expanding its presence in the defence sector, including partnerships with global firms for technology transfer. The Shivpuri plant is expected to become operational within the next few years, subject to regulatory approvals and construction timelines.
