800 Kasaragod households join hands to cook idlis for ITI arts fest guests
In a remarkable show of collective hospitality, around 800 households in the Bengalam and Kakkat areas of Madikai panchayats in Kasaragod district will prepare idlis on Friday morning to feed participants and guests of the State ITI Arts Festival being held at Bangalam.
The community-driven initiative aims to host students and accompanying teams who have arrived from across Kerala for the festival. Idlis prepared in individual homes will be collected and taken to the festival kitchen, with an estimated 3,000 idlis expected to be served for Friday's breakfast.
The festival, featuring ITI (Industrial Training Institute) students competing in various cultural events, will conclude on Friday evening.
The unusual model of 800 households preparing idlis on a single day for festival guests has drawn attention as a notable example of community participation and grassroots support for a state-level event.
