60 Employment Letters Distributed at Chennai Event Under PM's Job Scheme

The Ministry of Labour and Employment organised a special programme on Saturday as part of the national event for disbursing benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY). The event was held at multiple venues in Chennai, including the Indian Bank Management Academy for Growth and Excellence (IMAGE) at MRC Nagar, the Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT), and six other locations.

According to a press release, at IMAGE, a total of 750 participants took part, including 450 beneficiaries, 122 employers, and industry association representatives. Officials from the State government, including K. Niraimathi, Joint Director of the Directorate of Safety and Health, and Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Labour Commissioner, were present. Central government representatives included Srinu Dara, Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), and Renu Ramachandran, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, along with other officials from the Chennai South Regional Office of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). A total of 60 employment letters were distributed at this venue.

At CICT, Bhuvaneshwari, Registrar of CICT, and Sasikumar, Joint Director of Industrial Safety and Health, served as chief guests. The event saw participation from 96 beneficiaries and 14 employers. D. Ravikumar, Regional P.F Commissioner-II from the Chennai South Regional Office, along with industry association representatives, public representatives, senior State government officials, and EPFO officers, were also in attendance. Ten employment letters were distributed at this venue.

The PM-VBRY scheme aims to provide employment opportunities to eligible youth across the country. The distribution of employment letters is part of the government's efforts to connect job seekers with employers under a structured framework. The events in Chennai underscore the collaborative approach between central and state authorities in implementing the scheme at the grassroots level.
