20 Women from Andhra Pradesh Detained at Hyderabad Airport with Fake Visas for Oman

In a major immigration fraud case, twenty women from Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district were detained at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad on Wednesday night (July 1, 2026) after they were found carrying fake visas while attempting to board an Oman Air flight to Muscat.

According to the RGIA Outpost Police, the women were intercepted during immigration clearance after officials suspected that their visas were forged. They were taken into custody for questioning.

During the inquiry, the women revealed that a travel agent had arranged the documents, promising them jobs in Muscat. They claimed they were unaware that the visas were fake. Police said the agent had arranged both their employment and travel to Oman.

A case has been registered by the RGIA Outpost police. The women were issued notices and sent back to their native place. Efforts are underway to trace the agent responsible for the fraud.

This incident highlights the vulnerability of job seekers to fraudulent recruitment agencies. Authorities have urged individuals to verify the authenticity of visas and job offers through official channels before traveling abroad.
