17-Year-Old Detained in Gorakhpur for Killing Brother, Sister-in-Law, and Nephew
A 17-year-old boy in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, has been taken into custody on suspicion of killing his elder brother, sister-in-law, and their three-year-old son. The incident occurred late at night while the victims were asleep. Police confirmed that the couple's nine-year-old daughter, who was also sleeping in the same room, was unharmed.
According to initial investigations, the teenager entered the room where the three victims were sleeping and attacked them with a blunt object before using a sharp weapon. His parents were asleep in another room at the time and were not aware of the incident until later. The police have not disclosed the motive but mentioned that a household dispute may have preceded the attack.
“We have detained the minor and are questioning him to ascertain the exact sequence of events,” said a senior police officer. The accused will be produced before the juvenile justice board. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
The incident has shocked the local community, and neighbours expressed disbelief as the family was not known to have any major conflicts. Police are investigating further and have collected evidence from the scene.
