10-year-old's letter to UP CM Yogi sparks approval of sports facility in Bilari

In May, Mohammad Aidan, a 10-year-old Class 5 student from Bilari in Moradabad district, wrote a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, expressing his disappointment over the lack of a children's park in his hometown. Aidan said that without a park, he had no place to play during his summer vacations and was forced to stay indoors.

Weeks later, the district administration contacted Aidan with surprising news: a proposal for a multipurpose sports facility centre in Bilari had been approved, and work would begin soon. Bilari, with a population of around 60,000, is located about 30 kilometres from the Moradabad district headquarters.

In his letter, Aidan had requested a park in his neighbourhood. Following the letter, correspondence ensued between the state government and the Moradabad district magistrate, who then sought details from the Bilari Nagar Palika. A suitable plot of land was identified on the playground of the Junior High School, and the proposal was submitted to the government under the Chief Minister's Vaishvik Nagarodaya Yojana.

Rajani Singh, Executive Officer of Bilari Nagar Palika, confirmed that the proposal was recently approved. She noted that residents had long demanded a children's park. The process of allocating funds is underway, and construction will start after funds are released to the municipality.

Aidan's father, advocate Zishan Pasha (38), recalled that Aidan initially pestered him to take him to a park during the summer break. When Pasha said he could not help, Aidan suggested writing to the Chief Minister. Pasha said he did not take the letter seriously at first but sent it by speed post after Aidan reminded him. The family was surprised by the quick response, and local residents have been congratulating Aidan for his initiative.
